VIANNEY ACADEMY
Classroom Program

Real classroom experience, with the support to thrive. Vianney’s Classroom Program gives students the full school-day experience in a small, supportive classroom of 8–16 students. Students learn the routines, expectations and teamwork of a regular classroom while getting the individual attention they need. Many will continue at Vianney; others will use the program to prepare for joining or returning to their community school.
Who it’s for
- Students with special needs and learning challenges who are ready for group learning but need a smaller, more structured setting
- Students preparing to join a mainstream classroom, or to return to one
What students work on
- Self-regulation: managing emotions and transitions throughout a full school day
- Relating and engaging with others: working in groups, making friends and being part of a classroom community
- Communicating in meaningful ways: participating in lessons, sharing ideas and advocating for themselves
- Critical thinking: applying academic skills, reasoning through problems and learning independently
- Academic foundations: building literacy, numeracy and study skills at each student’s level
- Executive functioning: organizing work, managing time, following multi-step instructions and completing tasks on their own
How it works
Teachers, aides and our clinical team work together to combine academics with social, emotional and communication goals for each student. Daily routines mirror those of a typical classroom, so skills learned at Vianney carry over to any school setting. Progress is reviewed regularly with families, and for students moving on, we plan the transition together with the family and the new school.
Working with schools
Vianney currently works with schools on this program. We share progress and strategies with school teams and plan each student’s return together, so that the move back to their community school is a success.
