Vianney Academy of Learning is a non-profit independent learning centre that offers full and part-time tutoring. Our classroom and school environment are set up to meet the student’s educational, physical, emotional, and social needs in order to maximize learning potential. Our instructors are a mixture of experienced home educators and hired professionals.Collectively, we have been homeschooling for more than 50 years.

Remediation Special Education
Special Needs
Sometimes the school system cannot offer special education support, or the quality of the intervention is not up to standard. We offer a viable alternative. We develop and implement a comprehensive Individual Education Plan. Lessons are usually arranged on a 1:1 basis. Flexible lesson dates are arranged in consultation with the family.

Remedial Math
Math-U-See provides a firm foundation in mathematics for students struggling in mathematics and with special needs. Teachers are provided the tools, skills and training needed to present an explicit, structured, systematic, and cumulative program using multi-sensory teaching techniques. Since 2004, Math-U-See has been working with Special Education Teachers to teach students who are struggling in math or have special needs. These students are showing tremendous improvements and are closing the achievement gap. Math-U-See unique approach targets each individual student and focuses on their needs.
Remedial Reading
SMT – The Simultaneous Multisensory Teaching Program is a unique language remediation system designed to satisfy the needs of students with dyslexia of all age groups. Although they have normal or above average intelligence, people with dyslexia generally obtain lower grades with conventional teaching methods. They are more receptive to programs such as S.M.T. which is based on a multisensory approach, and which simultaneously uses visual, auditory, tactile and kinesthetic modalities.
S.M.T. stresses reading accuracy during its initial lessons and then emphasizes reading comprehension. All material is presented in brief, sequential steps which allow students to develop self-confidence. Students always progress at their own pace.
Remedial Writing
In order to succeed in every area of life, children must hone the skills needed to communicate confidently and effectively. “Whether the student is an eager learner or a reluctant writer, Excellence in Writing, writing program will give you the tools you need to confidently write well, think clearly, and express themselves eloquently and persuasively.”
Study Skills/Organization
Students learn study and work strategies to keep them organized. Skills/Advanced Skills for School Success is a research-based program that transforms "strategy-free" students into successful students who:
- Exhibit positive classroom behaviours, manage time, and organize assignments
- Make effective use of text and reference books and interpret graphic aids
- Study for and approach tests with confidence
- Gather information, take notes, and respond in class

Our daytime students have an opportunity to not only get an excellent education but also participate in therapies and programs throughout the day that will help them overcome their learning challenges. We offer a wide range of therapies/ programs at Vianney Academy of Learning. Not all students need to do all the therapies/programs. Students of Vianney are assessed to determine what therapies/programs will benefit them. We then make an IEP (individual education plan) to make it happen. Students are monitored closely and adjustments are made to their IEP as needed.

Subject Tutoring & Homework Support
At Vianney Academy of Learning students can be tutored in one subject or they can receive homework support in all their subjects. We also teach all students the skills they need to become independent learners and self-motivators.
Lessons are scheduled on a one-to-one or small group basis.
Flexible lesson dates are arranged in consultation with the family.
There is never a need to worry about long term commitments.

Sound Therapy
Therapies
Sound Therapy is a listening program that improves auditory processing, sensory processing (visual, motor, balance) as well as integration between the senses.
Floor Therapy
Therapies
A series of exercises developed to improve memory, processing speed, attention span and reduce sensory processing issues.
Writing Eights
Therapies
The writing eight exercise is a writing activity that effectively helps students with dyspraxia write neater, quicker and with ease.
Learning Breakthrough
Therapies
The Learning Breakthrough program has a series of activities that the child performs on a Belgau Balancing Board. The activities make it possible for the child to reach higher levels of achievement in school and sports.
